Inclusion Criteria
We include buildings with 20 or more above-ground floors that contain residential units. This criterion will not be changed later.
TOWERS.SELECT includes buildings with 20 or more above-ground floors that contain residential units. Buildings with 19 or fewer above-ground floors and buildings without residential units are excluded. 1,354 buildings are currently published.
Buildings We Include and Exclude
| Number of Floors | We include buildings with 20 or more above-ground floors and exclude those with 19 or fewer. Eligibility is determined by the above-ground floor count stated in property descriptions and similar sources. |
|---|---|
| Use | We include buildings containing residential units. Buildings used exclusively as offices, hotels, or shops are excluded regardless of their number of floors. |
| Mixed Use | Even if a building is primarily used for offices or other purposes, we include it when residential units or serviced apartments are confirmed within that same building. We do not include it merely because another building in the same development block contains residences. |
| Rental-Only and Public Housing | We also include rental-only buildings, UR and public housing corporation rentals, municipal housing, and government employee housing. If a building has no active sales or rental market, this is stated on its building page. |
| Under Construction & Planned | We also include buildings that have not yet been completed. We clearly state their scheduled completion date and do not publish unit listings for them. |
The threshold of 20 or more above-ground floors follows a definition widely used in industry research. Although another definition uses a height of at least 60 meters, we use floor count because building height is unavailable for more buildings.
Requirements for Publishing a Building Page
We publish a building page only when all of the following have been verified. If even one item remains unverified, we do not create a page.
- The building contains residential units
- The specific building has been identified without confusing it with another building of the same name or with the development block as a whole
- Above-ground floor count (20 or more)
- Address through the district and block level, and geographic location
- Completion month and year, or scheduled completion month and year for an unfinished building
Total unit count is not a publication requirement. When it cannot be verified, the building is published with the value shown as “Unverified”.
There are 1,354 published buildings.
How Values Are Presented
- Unverified values are shown as “Unverified” or “—”. We do not substitute values from other buildings or from the development block as a whole.
- We distinguish a building's unit count from the combined total for multiple buildings.
- Commercial and other nonresidential units are not included in residential unit counts.
